I Have Exciting News!!!!

So in case you had not heard I have been named to the Tiddly Inks Design Team!!! I am am so excited..my kids will vouch for the fact I was squealing with joy when I read the email from Christy. I had not wanted to get my hopes up ..there were over a hundred amazing entries and she was only selecting 6 of us....eeek.
I want to congratulate the fellow ladies going the team ( I will be adding a link to the blog so you can check out all of there blogs). As well as the Top 25 entries that Christy chose, everyone's work was fantastic and I hope you all try out again in December for her next DT call!!!

Many of you know my love for Tiddly Ink Stamps... they were the first digital stamps I ever purchased (thanks to some gentle pushing from Alyce) . I love all the characters but have a soft spot in my heart for Wryn she reminds me so much of my little girl...though she isn't so little anymore as she kindly reminds me  she is 8 going on 18....lol!

Anyway here is the card that one me the spot if you hadn't already seen my previous post. It features the stamp Wryn- Howdy Cowgirl please check out my post here for further details.

Now on to some new stuff... Yesterday was my nephews 2nd birthday party ...It was a Dinosaur theme event so who better to use for my card than Tiddly Inks King of the Wild Ones Stamp the is stamp is available in both digital as well as clear stamp set . I printed him on Curious Mettalics Cryogen White Cardstock and he is colored with Copic Markers.  Now I must apologize the photos were taken quickly with my cell phone in a dark room so I had to brighten them using PicMonkey in order for them to look like they should...but they still look like I was blazing the spotlight on them.

Anyway here he is ... I used Copic Sketch Markers:  E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, E25, E29, E33, E35, E42, E47, W3, W5, C5, R20,Y02, Y06, Y11, Y38, YR04, YR07, YR12, YR15, YG03, YG06, YG11, G07, BG01, BG05, BG07

Its a CAS (Clean and Simple) Card ..not my usual style but I wanted the little man take center stage of the card. Its mounted on Canadian Scapbooker Super Stock and accented with DCWV "Nana's Kids" paper and My little Shoebox Mini Alphabet Stickers and Heidi Swapp Color Magic Banners colored with Copics.

I hope you enjoyed  the post and stay tuned for all the wonderful Tiddly Ink Creations that will be coming your way shortly!

I'm back and ...... Tiddly Inks Design Team Call!!!!!

Anyone who has small children will understand how busy those last few weeks of school and first weeks of summer can be. I have 4 little ones (ages 1 to 8)  so you can imagine the scheduling that is required to keep everyone and everything on track.  After the controlled chaos of last year I decided something had to give...or at least go on Hiatus for a few weeks. Unfortunately for me ..it was my art. So  I set the goal that until we got back from camping ..other than the odd card for a birthday or special customer request I would focus on my kids and house.  Now I ALWAYS put my family or any work/ Design Team  related commitments first. But I have been known to let the chores or renovations wait in order to allow my creativity flow....or be known to stay up way way to late and put my health at risk in order to get everything done.  But we are back from our short but sweet camping trip and I have played around with a few things  while dealing with sick kids and hubby and I am ready get back to my LOVE for crafting.   But what better way to start blogging again than with a card I made for the Awesome Tiddly Inks Design Team Call!   Tiddly Inks were the first ever digital images I ever purchased ...and I have been hooked ever since!  I love all the images but have to say have a special place in my heart for Wryn... she reminds me so much of my little girl!

So for my card I chose to use Wryn - Howdy Cowgirl  she is printed on Curious Mettalics Cryogen White Cardstock and I used the 3.5 by 5 photo size on my Kodak printer. I find the images printed at this size perfect for a card from standard A4 to a 6 inch square.  It allows the image to be the focal point (as it should be ) but also give you the room to accessorize the card to enhance the image.  The image is colored with Copic Sketch Markers using techniques learnt from Alyce's free color videos at Kit and Clowder.  I just signed up for her classes and can't wait to learn more!!!!

Colors used : E000, E00, E04, E11, E13, E15, E18, E21, E25, E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E42, E47, E74, E79, R20, C3, C5, W3, 100, YG03, YG06, YG11, G07, BG01, BG05, BG07, BG09, BV25, BV29

The pattern paper used is from October Afternoon's Sasperilla line, the sentiment is from a Project Life card cut down.  These are all mounted on BoBunny's Vintage Dot cardstock in Chocolate color.  Everything has been distressed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

The trellis cut out is down with my Silhouette Cameo  ( I am in LOVE with this machine!!). The image file is Flourish Heart Lattice and I trimmed it down after cutting it out on white card stock and coating it with Lindys Stamp Gang Steampunk Sepia  Color Shot then distressing with the Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
The lace ribbon and burlap are from my scraps drawer, and the resin flower and button from my bling odds and ends.  The button is tied with Primas new wire   I used the Stark White color and dyed it with my Distress Ink. This stuff is great for adding a controlled string look to any project.

Anyway I hope you enjoy my project , I loved making it!  I think tonight I am going to try my hand a a mix media card using the lovely Wryn- Hanging Around ! Head on over to Tiddly Inks and see all that there is to offer, and while you there check out all the wonderful submissions for the Design Team. So much  to inspire you with!!!

Hope to see you soon!!!!

Opps... 15 mins later and I'm already back adding stuff I forgot! The card is based on a sketch  I had copied onto a piece of paper on my desk...now usually I am good about writing down where it cam from so I can give credit where it is due ..But part of the paper is missing so I am guessing that I wrote it down there and was stolen by hubby or kids.  If this is you sketch or you know whose sketch it is please let me know so I can give credit where it is due!! Sometimes I work from a sketch or a layout of others sometimes I free hand it but if I use something for inspiration from someone they deserve to be recognized.... the same way as if you use something of mine all I ask is to be recognized for the inspiration.    Thanks everyone!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Guest Spot Challenge time again!!!!!

So I have been very busy over the last 2 months with family things that I have barley had time to do anything crafty besides the odd birthday card... and a couple of pages I will share these later.

BUT Kim Reid the owner of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps announced another guest design team member competition so I had to join in...... I loved hanging out with these girls so much last time. So fingers crossed it will happen again!!!!

Here is a card I created for a magic obsessed birthday girl. It features the wonderful Tabitha stamp and phrase set. The color palette is her favorite colors..dark pink, purple, green and brown.  The papers are all Basic Grey from my scraps bin. The rhinestones and bling are from Prima but they are older.   I of course colored her with Copics.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I hope my watermark wont bother anyone...the amazing Nikki made it for me and it goes on everything now.. Far to much image theft going on these days.

Sorry I have been away!!!! But I am back with good news!!!!!!

So the last couple weeks have been CRAZY!!!! Aside from the usual chaos of having 4 small kids and a husband who seems to be constantly at work...we had some shall we say bonus challenges this past few weeks.   To put it in a nutshell... brand new broken glasses , broken teeth, almost broken foot ( who knew you have to special order in crutches for little ones)  a may be deaf in one ear diagnosis...a definitely you infant will need to have glasses and patch like there brother and sister diagnosis...... added to an influx of mommy migraines...and the truck broke down........needless to say it all happened at once. Nothing we cant handle but would have preferred some breathing room in between....but who wouldn't.  And yes even though it is one nightmare after another and I grumble about it ...I still feel very blessed that it isn't worse.... There are so many that have so much worse to deal with in their lives.  Appreciate the little things in life ..no matter how insignificant they may seem to others. If they mean something to you that is all that matters!

And speaking of which....... to most around me (outside of the crafty world) it means nothing but to me its enough to brighten my day and find purpose and strength for the next day to come. I don't nearly enough time to spend doing this as I would love. But my kids come first....I will however say screw it to cleaning for a couple hours in order to take some needed "me time" I mean it is going to be a mess in a couple hours again anyway right... Recognition like this doesn't necessarily come with a "prize" other than my fabulous blinky.... BUT It means I am not crackpot crazy and that my work may actually be good ..... anyway  I MADE TOP 3 for the month of April over at Kit and Clowder.   It was for my Some Odd Girl Card " Puddle Hopping Tia"... this is actually the first Some Odd Girl Image I ever colored. In case you forgot here is my card....( the award blinky is to your right....) . And you may notice on this card  I have a new watermark.....YIPPPPEEEEEE the super talented Nikki designed one for me. You  can get your own by clicking on the watermark link on the right hand column  and contacting Nikki yourself.  In case its hard to see on the image I have posted a picture of it as well...Don't you just love my button tree!!!!! Also here is a link to my original post about my Some Odd Girl Card in case you missed out on the details on how I made it !   Happy Crafting ...I will be back with a Layout later...and stay tuned for some Crafty Candy giveaways coming soon.......

Back to Basics Birthday ...... the things you do for love..

So my darling little girl had a 8th birthday party to attend this past weekend, he first "late night" one. She was very excited to be able to be out and up past 8 at night...and to go to her first "Rockstar" party. Serena loves all music but really could care less who sings it. In fact the only 2 she really recognizes are Katy Perry ( who she LOVES!!!) and Justin Beiber ( who she HATES..with a passion....seriously don't get the girl started on him..) Anyway since we had decided to get the birthday girl am I tunes Gift card ..no present wrapping was required... and Serena my fledgling scrapper wanted to make her own card so I was off the hook......ya right....  Noon on the birthday day and my teary eyed 8 year old comes to me worried that her card isn't good enough ..especially since she doesn't have a "present"to bring either... Sighhhhhhhh.  So despite my talking to her and conceiving her its was from the heart and it didn't matter how it looked....I was making a "really good" card. (Did I mention I was home alone with all 4 kids and had a very needy clingy 1 year old to deal with..)  Anyway we picked out a Digi ..printed it off ..she told me what colors she wanted...even challenging me to do my first "streak" hair color... and hour  and a half later we had our card and envelope. (Coloring with clingy baby ..not easy.)

So here the card is... I totally forgot to take a picture of the Envelope..of course.... we had dolled it up to make t look like a present...and I realized afterwards I hadn't taken a picture...opps!  Anyway as I said this is a basic layers card with a couple of embellishments. I did try a couple new things on the card. First the "streak" of pink hair ..I still feel its to chunky but it looks cute. Second I felt like the white space needed something so I used an idea I saw on Linda's blog ( Sticky with Glitter) using Ranger Perfect Pearls randomly around the image.  Hope you enjoy, the supply list will be listed at the bottom of the post.

Dance in the rain!!!!!!

Today's card is my first ever using a " Some Odd Girl" Digi. First off I LOVE Digi images... I have only been using them for about a week and a half but so far the benefits are amazing.  Top 3 reasons are....

1. Almost instant purchasing.( and they are CHEAPER)..which mean when I get inspired at 2 am and find something I want to use... I have it now to play with instead of having to wait for a shipment...etc.. ( and no shipping fees!!!!!!)

2. I can manipulate the size....merge it with other images.... and I don't get "oops..marks and smudging when I stamp" because the printer prints it out.

3. They take up no room!!! With 6 people in this house space is at a premium and they all fit nicely on my computer...no space needed. I do back them up to another system ..just in case.... like I do with my photos!.

Now don't get me wrong I love my rubber stamps as well , but they do take up room (particularly the wood mount ones) ... I do opps and smudge sometimes... and they are stuck in the size made....which is fine...but you all know I like to manipulate things (in a good way).  Can't say I will never buy a rubber stamp again..because it wont be true..Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps have my heart ...and they are only in rubber.  But just like having some great new options. And the Some Odd Girl stamps come in rubber as well!

Now on with the show!!!

My Some Odd Girl card featuring the wonderful Puddle hopping Tia,  she so reminds me of Serena as a toddler!  I colored her using Copics on Curious Mettalics Cryogen White paper. Accented her with some Ranger Glossy Accent eyes and rubber boots. Then with the advice of my wonderful Facebook peeps.. gave her umbrella and the puddle a glossy accent coat with droplets on the umbrella and a hit of Stardust Stickles on the drops and water edge.  The whole card (with the exception of the pink dot paper and green flower paper  which are scraps) was made using the BoBunny Baby Bump Emphemera pack! These cute little packs have a little bit of everything in them..including a stamp set..paper..ribbon embellishments. They run about $10 dollars here  and I bought it on a whim and plee from my daughter because she loved the little dancer pin in it.    I accented a few items ..like my dark blue circle with a layer of glossy and a hint of Stickles Stardust here and there. Now there are no inside pictures I just did some simple layering and I plan to stamp my favorite "dance in the rain" qoute ...as soon as I find where I put the stamp...lol..
Hope you enjoy!!!

Welcome to April...lets hope the snow goes!!!!!!

Hi all sorry I have been away for the last couple days but it is Spring Break here which means I am out numbered 4 to 1  almost the entire week. This doesn't leave much time for craftiness amongst the Lego builds..swimming... "pop quizs" story time...and re-watching of Frozen...again...and again... lol. They love that movie (the boys to).  My only wish was it was nicer for then outdoors to play out there longer. Oh well, I still have had a few moments to myself to color up some Digi images ( more on this in my next post) and watch a few of Alyces wonderful Kit and Clowder coloring videos.  And on Monday my new goodies from Kim at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps arrived..wooohooooo!!!!.

But today is Wednesday which means its another Wonderful Wednesday over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and even though i am not a Krafty Guest this month (waaaa...I miss my Krafty Girls) I can still play along.  Todays card is a "Keep it simple" card for a birthday lady who loves Angels. I used basic layers with some scrap papers .. a layer of Cheesecloth.. a random Prima embellishment and  of course my Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp...Celestina colored with Copics..and glittered with a sprinkles of Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Glitter.

Copic Colors used: BG10,  RV00, RV02, RV04, RV06, E000, E00, E04, E11, E50, E42, E33, Y38, YR15, W1, W3
